Olympic Handball
In early 2009 SDCSP, in partnership with the Irish Olympic Handball Association., organised a free Olympic Handball course for PE teachers. As part of the course teachers were also given free handballs to get them started.
Following this we assisted in the organisation of a 1 day schools tournament for boys and girls teams in Coláiste de hIde, Tallaght. 5 boys and 5 girls teams from the following schools participated – Coláiste de hIde, Tallaght Community School, St. Aidans Community School, St. Marks Community School and St. Pauls. Based on a league format each school had 4 games of 20 mins.
The day was seen as a great success by the pupils and teachers who now plan to introduce the game on a more regular basis into their school programmes.
